I have been working with diversity related tasks more or less all my life.
Since 1999
I work with diversity management as a onsultant in my own company,
Diversity Support.
1970 I graduated in Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in
Stockholm and
started to teach at a technical collage.
As a female teacher in electrotechnical subjects I got a special task to
attract more
female students to technical studies and to find out why so few applied.
Three years in Tanzania teaching in a public secondary school increased my
multicultural
interest.
In 1990 I initiated a special labour office, International Engineers, for
immigrant engineers with universitiy degrees.
The office became a permanent labour office in Stockholm 1994. I was the
head of the office up to 1999.
I was the coordinator for the Equal project FAIR – Future Adopted Inclusive
Recruitment 2005 – 2008. FAIR’s overall objective was to create a new
recruitment standard based on “best practices”, documented effectiveness and
accuracy. For more information see www.equalfair.se
